Treat your fellow posters with the respect that you yourself would hope to be treated. That means no derogatory or provocative posts aimed at other users

You should be ashamed of yourself :crying:

Irony isn't your best suit is it.

If you had any wit you will know exactly why I posted that, but there you go mate.

Malky Thompson was a breath of fresh air when he came into the reserve set up, and the reserves did very well under him. It is a great shame that he has left the club. But that''s what you get when you get good at things people want your people goes with the territory. However, here's where I have a problem. I am sure part of MT's decision was to do with Blues deciding to not enter a team into the Prem reserve league this term. They made the same decision a couple of seasons back, and i don't feel that is right. However, I am also sure I do not understand the full circumstances for these decisions.

He was in charge Lewis - it was his decision. And it was upto him to format a full season of mixed matches, some at Wast Hills and private and some at St Andrews and open.

Stoke, I think and a couple of other teams have also opted out of the Barclays Reserve format.

What I read to justify it makes sense on one level.

Barclay Reserve matches are at fixed times and days.

Players on our bench, train and yet don't get match sharpeness after a sub appearance or two in a month.
They have to train with the 1st team, so cannot always be available for Sunday/Tuesday reserve matches.

The Academy play Saturday mornings so any kid training with the first team, and may be on the bench - quite possibly doesn't play.

Opting out of the rigid Barclays Reserve format allowed Thomson to schedule private matches or open matches to suit 1st team training and playing requirements.

As said, we are not the only club to opt out this season.

I only hope that the next guy in has the same opinion as Thomson.

What is your source?

Strange how some people write as if they know the facts, but actually they are just voicing opinions. Can be extremely misleading, if you are gullible.

Is that a dig at me lewis?

If so, perhaps you need reminding of the first Rule on this Forum.

My post was all based on fact. Reported and quoted fact.

OK **thumbup

It was not a dig, and certainly does not breach house rules. It was a comment on your style in that particular post, but also a comment on many other people who talk as if they are in the know when they are not. Not sure whether you fall into the latter category though, as you still have not quoted your source. I am happy to believe it if and when you tell us where your info came from. It is not something I have read, obviously.
